Update 12.2 Christmas Lesson!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!
On Sunday, we discussed he 2nd coming of Jesus Christ.  Wow.  There was so much we could have talked about and studied, but I felt impressed to study the doctrine in hymn #196, Jesus Once of Humble Birth.  We made two lists, one for the description of Jesus' mortal life, and the other of prophecy of what his Second Coming will be like:
                                                       
Humble Birth                                                        In Glory comes to earth

He suffered grief and pain                                    He comes on earth to reign

A meek and lowly lamb                                       The Lord, the great "I Am"

Upon the cross he bowed                                      His chariot is the cloud

He groaned in blood and tears                               In Glory he appears

Rejected by his own                                               Their king he shall be known

Forsaken, left alone                                                Exalted to a throne

All things he meekly bore                                      Will bear no more


What a message of hope and peace!  You know how I love the hymns!

This week will be our Christmas lesson because on Christmas Day there will only be sacrament meeting.  Jared will be teaching How can I share my testimony that Jesus Christ is the son of God?

To prepare for this lesson, please focus on our Savior this week, any way you like!  You can study the scriptures:

Helaman 14
3 Nephi 1

Update 12.1 (What can I learn from the scriptures to help me prepare for the Second Coming?)

Dear friends from Sunday School,
I missed you on Sunday!  I was feeling very flu-ish, so I stayed home and did family history, which was awesome!  I heard that Sarah, Kayla, and President Day did a great job with the lesson about standing as a witness of God.  Thank you all so much for contributing and the peace I had knowing you all would be just fine without me :)

Coming up this week, Our lesson is What can I learn from the scriptures to help me prepare for the Second Coming?
To prepare for our lesson, consider looking up "Jesus Christ, Second Coming" in the Topical Guide of your Bible.  You might want to look for scriptures that answer the questions, "What will happen?" and "What do I need to do to prepare?"
