Update 10.4

Greetings to my favorite teenagers!
Sunday school this week was great.  We divided back up into our 3 groups from last week and led the learning activity that had been prepared the week before.  I'm so grateful for what I learned about asking questions, and responding to questions, and what a difference it can make in our Gospel learning and conversion.

Coming up this week, Kayla and I will be team teaching, focusing on the question, "How did the Savior compare gospel truths to familiar objects and experiences?
If you'd like to prepare for the lesson during your studies this week, consider reading one or more of these scripture blocks where Jesus' parables are found:
Matthew 20:1-15
Matthew 25:1-13, 14-30
Luke 8:4-15
Luke 15:1-7, 8-10, 11-32
                              

Also, we will have time to share a memorable story that you have heard that teaches a gospel principle.  I look forward to seeing you there!

Update 10.3

Happy Wednesday!
On Sunday, we took some time to share our thoughts and experiences from the conferences of previous weeks.  I'm so grateful for those who shared, for the spirit that all brought to the room, and I hope that everyone was edified!
We then divided in 3 groups and prepared next week's lesson!  Do you remember which part is yours?  If you weren't here on Sunday, you'll get to enjoy seeing what everyone came up with ;)
Each group took a section from Ask inspired questions, a section from Teaching in the Savior's Way, and prepared to share the information and lead a learning experience.

I've been going through this again this week, and writing notes.  I think it's so great and I'm excited for us to go through it as a class!
Feel free to prepare clicking here and studying each section.  Also, I encourage you to look for questions asked in your daily scripture and conference talk study.
Oh, and we'll be celebrating some birthdays this week!  Brigham, Sarah, Haley, and Hunter!

Update 10.2

Hi Kids!  I hope you enjoyed General Conference and Stake Conference the last couple of weeks.  I sure did!  Wow, it's so great to get together and listen to our brothers, sisters, and leaders-- to feel inspired and encouraged--I've loved it!  Did you have any questions that were answered at either conference?  If it's not too personal, maybe you could share it with us on Sunday during class. :)

Just a friendly reminder that this Sunday will be fast Sunday!  Yay!

In Sunday school, we will be discussing the question "How can I use questions effectively as I teach?"  This is so great because you and are basically learning how to be teachers together! :)

We will be dividing into 3 groups and teaching the principles found in the new manual, "Teaching in the Savior's Way." 

If you would like to prepare for the lesson, please study one or all of the following, looking for how questions are used, and how they help us learn:

Matthew 16:24-26

Alma 5:14-30
